East End Park is one of my favorite places to go in the fall. The grass grows tall and there are acres to roam. Even with being situated within city limits, it’s one of the most peaceful locations I’ve photographed at. So beautiful and full of warm fall colors!
Cayanne + John Michael are such amazing, down to earth people. They both lead super intentional lives, and it was a pleasure to chat with them during the shoot, and hear about their future plans for their family. I met them through a mutual friend a while back, and was so stoked to hang with them again, and meet their daughter Halea.
Throughout the shoot, Halea found so many small details to enjoy, like shaking the leaves on trees and laying down in the tall grass. After laying on the earth with Halea for a moment, Cayanne and John Michael commented how calming it was to do. I love seeing families interact, because it reminds me of all the imagination and curiosity that children bring with them wherever they go. Children have a lovely way of reminding us to take in all the intricate details of a location, and focus on the innate mastery of nature.
I absolutely adored working with this family and was sad our time had to end after the sun had set.
I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do!
